FRAUD! SPOT IT & STOP IT! |
||
OP SERENNO (7th-11th July) Op Serenno is a safeguarding intensification week focusing on ‘Courier Fraud’. The purpose is to raise awareness to members of the public, jewellers and taxi firms of the growing trend of ‘Courier Fraud' so that warning signs can be recognised and crime can be prevented.
Courier Fraud is where a criminal impersonates a trusted official, such as a bank employee. The victim is then informed of an issue with their bank account or similar and are then manipulated into handing over money or high value goods, to a courier.
Please see the attached leaflet which shows how to SPOT IT AND STOP IT! And remember - Police and bank officials will never ask for pin numbers, goods or money!
